  • Matthew,
This was great, since you gave the example of the waiter scenario and the shifts of mindsets is it possible for you to do a follow up video on the example of what you noticed girls do wrong on a first date? It would be great to hear your examples of how to shift mindsets on a first date where first impressions are so important.

    Thanks!
    Danielle

  • dear matthew,
your`re right in one regard, as this mindset is the right one to pursue for different reasons, like your own content & living to your own standards.
but how come that in my work the people who complain & moan the most (& work less) are the ones who get the most attention & are promoted ?
maybe you can make a video about the “right way of self-promoting” in the future ?
    love your blog,
thank you for your constant effort,
    kerstin

    1. I aggree with you kerstin.
I know a lot of grouchy people who get more attention and are more respected than me.
I wish I could be more assertive!

  • Your video is so comforting, like a friend giving advice. You tell stories, you paint scenarios that leave a wider individual interpretation of the subject, something I want to improve on, telling stories.

I have a question… How long is it acceptable to see a guy without a commitment? Is 4 years of seeing each other too long? While he sees other people.

    1. Sam,

4 years is about 3 and 1/2 yrs too long! Get away from that guy so you can find the guy who thinks you’re worth commitment and respect.

PS Matt, I second some of the requests for follow-up videos, especially about the girl’s behavior. Perfectly timed and very helpful video. Thank you!

  • Amazing video Matthew!

    I completely agree with you :) !

I make a point of honor to try to see the good side and the opportunities in every situation.
That’s what made able to overcome very hard ones.

Unfortunately I also find very hard to stand people who complain and criticise others all the time.
I’m very sensitive to other people’s mood and their negativity affects me very much :(
I wish I was better at protecting myself from this.

  • I don’t agree with the title and the implication that a successful life means having a well earing job and becoming rich and having a positive mindset means having a successful life. We don’t have control over the things that happen in our life. I agree that having a positive mindset is important and that it can change your life so you need to train it BUT …. shit happens and sometimes over and over again. Losing a job, losing people, horrible diseases or having 5 miscarriages in a row. You have to be like Buddha to have that not affect your mindset. It doesn’t have to last forever but in that time that

  • Pressed the wrong button. What I was saying was that in the time that you’re down you van miss crucial opportunities and make wrong choices. The only thing we can do to have some contol over our life is to train having a positive mindset so you can bounce back a bit quickerbut it doesn’t guarantee a successful life especially not by your implication of a successful life. Still it’s good advice!

    1. Hi Iris, I don’t think Matthew meant to say that having a well-earning job and becoming rich means success. It was just an example for working people who want to climb the leather in their work places. He also gave examples of a waitress and a woman who can’t have a relationship for 10 years. Success means different things to different people, as a good career doesn’t always bring a lot of money anyways. So whatever you are trying to accomplish in your life, whatever success means to you (i.e. getting a promotion, making a lot of money, raising kids, traveling the world, being famous), the key mind-set to do it is to turn the negatives into positives. That is what he meant. :)

  • You know what , I was suffering from that too lately … I have been a person who takes the idea of opportunities to my benift my whole life, until I entered medical College it was horrible I work hard all the time but the grades sucks .. this made me a person who complains all the time from how hard the the medicine is I almost forgot my passion to medicine … ah you refreshed my brain
    Thank you alot
Love your vedio as always …

  • What can you do to help change the mindset of someone you like, like a parent who hates his job and has a mindset that liars and cheaters get ahead while people like him who are honest and hardworking get reprimanded for speaking the truth and not lying just to tell people what they want to hear?

  • Hey Mat,

Thank you for your way of thinking and also sharing all those fantastic analysis with us. “what comes from the heart goes to the heart”.

I wish I could have your “impact” book, but since I am a new international student in the US, I cannot afford it. For now I follow your wonderful videos online.
I might have the necessary resource to buy it one day!
    Cheers

  • Wait…Matt, I wasn’t complaining re: the program(chuckles) it just that it scares me to be played on by that guy “who does not know me yet”;) and be conformed to his suggested system which i think was a good one, but i don’t want to lose myself along the way so i am keeping my sanity and slows down, hold my desires in…priorities had already been set before he came. (Team help me outta here :)) just like that move in the chess game-i am stepping backward to have a great leap forward until i finally get there…i keep it mind that if things happen the way we expect it to be or beyond(which is the best thing in anything), it was meant to be- but if not, brush it off ;) smile, move on and live on…right now, i just don’t want to be so competitive with how the world expects me to be ;) i just want to be vulnerable…even for a moment,to feel weak- that i don’t have to do all those complicated stuffs…it’s not just me who’s going to work, the world does not revolve around me,i am not superwoman,lol-just mere girl;) it will work if he wants it to work.I believe he has all the power to change it ;) i trust that guy enough to work it on for both of us,”whoever he is”…right now,i am tired of the push and pulls.i need to be assured that this attraction was not just about the program, that it is something deeper…something genuine…something i could hold on to, to make me believe again.that “forever” still exist and that love is what i will find in the end…sigh
