Loved the Anastasia comment, you’re so funny!
It is hard to make the conscious decision to put yourself out there, be available and be willing to meet new people. It is scary, I have to say that in my experience, I have never been a super outgoing person but I’d like to think I’m friendly so it’s been hard to start this process… just gotta keep trying right? thanks for the advice Matt! you’re awesome!

Hussey can your hair get any sexier‼️ Love the handsome guy in this video. Great communication techniques to open up conversation. I especially liked the one about being so busy and how to bring that statement into the present. Love your weekly videos

  3. Kelli says:

First off, probably one of your best videos yet!

BUT, I have a question. I am one of those people who is ridiculously busy, especially because I travel a lot for work. I don’t necessarily share this with guys right when I meet them…but when guys are trying to set up dates with me, it’s often difficult. I feel bad because there are a few guys who have invited me to things 2 or 3 times and I wouldn’t mind going out with them, but I have had prior commitments every time. How do I navigate this? I realize it’s a turnoff to keep telling them, “I’m busy, but please let me know next time!”

  6. Penny says:

Great advice! Be positive about who you are and allow others to be human – not everyone remembers everything so don’t put them in a position to be embarrassed about names, etc. Also a pet peeve of mine are the people that can’t graciously accept a compliment – whether you agree with what a person compliments about you or not, just say thank you for the kind words and go forward.

  7. Kim says:

    Matthew,
Your videos get better every week. You’ve really come into your own. The hard part for me is having to wait an entire week for a new one!

I believe this is pretty great advice, so thank you for all of your great videos. I am of the opinion that this particular video bite is great for all new interpersonal relationships not simply attracting a mate. Love the videos and I appreciate the humor a lot in them! Great work on trying to genuinely help others in such an easily digestible manner.

Very interesting! Spotted lines I use when I’m not at my best, and don’t know how to properly maintain a good image!
P.s. Laughed with tears when you rang that bell!!!

  19. Charlotte says:

HI Matt, any chance you could do some stuff on post domestic abuse dating. I know it sounds a weird topic but I work with people who have experienced abused and it would be really good if this was addressed in dating blogs.

    • Mia says:

I second Charlotte’s request. I think I heard that one in three women will experience domestic abuse, whether physical, verbal, emotional, financial, sexual, etc. Valid topic for discussion. A lot would depend on the woman’s temperment, resilience, support, but I think it is surprising how even women who would seem least likely to find themselves in or recovering from this, myself included, experience it. Like a disease, it could affect anyone (men too, of course) and if anything is even more jarring when it is a total contradiction to her self image and reputation. Realizing it’s not her fault and leaving are the first steps to healing, yet what are the next steps on the other side of trauma?
      Thanks for bringing this up.
