Thanks Matt, really great advice and love the txts. Funny how we forget as time goes on to continue to be playful in our communications. Started to find my txts were loosing their effectiveness & its started to feel like the guy I am seeing might be loosing interest. I wanted to chicken out, but I made myself send the “amazing burger” text. Why I was surprised that he texted back, I don’t know! The banter was fun and created some sexual tension, even if it did take me a minute to figure out how to respond.

I tried the text with a picture (referencing a mutual joke between us) and a few days later I tried the text about food (he is a real foody type too). I didn’t receive a reply to either.
I guess these techniques only work when both people actually like one another.
Can you use the first text, but change it to “It’s a good thing we didn’t work out, because we would be so much trouble for each other.” if YOU went needy (bad situation with illness in family++, but didn’t tell what happened) and he went cold, and you haven’t talked for a while? Or would that enhance you acting needy that time, instead of being intriguing and challenging? Want to get his attention again, without getting too focused on what happened earlier. Only had one (amazing) date with him, but it was the best out of the 5-10 different dates I’ve had this spring.

Okay, I watched the video and I went to the ninetexts.com website. *sigh* Sadly, as I was reading through the text messages, I realized, I’ve used some variation of most of those text messages before. The result? Yeah, it got THEM more interested…however, I was still bored out of my mind with them and their responses. Likewise, I noticed the majority of them have a sexual undertone. Here’s the deal, men are sexual…so are women, I get it. But, I’m turned off by the idea of leading with sex anymore because I don’t think, in my experience, men learn to appreciate and respect you that way. The majority of men now-a-days are not repsectful of women, and, while I think sex is important in a relationship, I’ve been burned too many times by guys who hear anything related to sex and and take a mile. It’s kind of a huge turn off anymore.
I don’t know what to do. I’m bored with men. I didn’t used to be, but, I am. I don’t like them anymore. I’m not a lesbian, but, I just think they are shallow, overrated, and, frankly, they are either boring or a really mean asshole. I don’t want to be better at texting or turning him on or this and that because frankly, I’ve realize there is nothing wrong with the way I have been doing it. What’s wrong is they don’t bring enough to the table for me to stay interested. I thought it was ME this whole time, but, it turns out, men are idiots! I’ve read the books, watched the videos, read the blogs, and, I’ve discovered that while us women are running around like circus animals trying to make ourselves more “impressive” so that we can get him to throw us a few crumbs of enthusiasm or a vague sign of anything that looks like a commitment, men are actually devolving and becoming more and more useless. It makes me sad because I had higher hopes for love than that, but, I guess I just see their shallowness now and it makes me feel disillusioned.
You have NOT found the right one… and, you’re right… men can be assholes… so can be women ;)
I just hope you’ll stumble on the one that will tick ALL you boxes and will make you feel hot right away.
And, yes, screw text messages and modern digital flirt – get face to face and you’ll know in a min or two whether you want to hang around and see him again. if not, move on!
